I was selected to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit 2026 !
It was such a big moment for me when I received the invitation to attend the Falling Wall Science Summit 2026 (as well as the Breakthrough in Physical Sciences Symposium which is integrated in this 4-day-meeting).
I am particularly excited about the highlight of the summit - the announcement of the Science Breakthroughs of the Year, which takes place on the final day.
While preparing for the meeting, I read this interview with Melina Schuh, director at MPI-NAT—my previous workplace where I did my Ph.D.! She won the Science Breakthrough of the Year 2025 in Life Sciences for the research from her group, especially imaging the entire process of ovulation for the first time. This is so incredible to look at the process when the follicle dynamically transform from enlarging to contracting, to extruding the ovum in real-time!
One of my favorite parts was when she was asked: “What advice would you give to young scientists or students interested in pursuing a career in research, or to your younger self starting in science?”
So this is the recap: “curiosity & passion –> persistence –> collaboration –> communication –> integrity & respect –> just enjoy the process!”
Count down to 6th of November!
